Tanglewood

Students tracking up Tanglewood's welcome hill.

Do you know there is a calm marsh behind the Saint George school? The 6th grade and the Alt. Ed went to Tanglewood because we wanted to learn how to build a nature trail. While at Tanglewood, I learned how to use a soil auger. You push it in the ground until it gets to the top of the auger then pull it out. I also learned how to tell a hard wood from a soft wood tree by looking up at the canopy. Then we learned how to use a compass for  navigation by putting it up to your belly button. We also learned how to pace our steps by two cones  100 feet away and so you start at one cone and end up at the other cone. We slept in cabins. The cabin I stayed in was called Dogtrot. In the Dogtrot cabin there were 8 bunks and most of my friends stayed there with me. The teacher slept on the top bunk. The last night we stayed there, we roasted smores.

I am interested in putting birdhouses near  the water, because I want little and big people to see the birdhouses.
I want to put birdhouses in the woods so the birds can have a house and because a lot of people like birds. We really need birdhouses because it would be fun to check out the birds. It would be cool to take a look at the birds and it would help us learn about how birds build their nest.
